The Ottawa Sportsmen will hold its regular membership meeting Monday June 4th at 7:30 p.m. at the clubhouse, M -38, Pelkie. Ron Moilenen will have the outdoor grill ready at six o'clock for members and guests to grill steaks that will be available at a nominal cost. Salad and rolls will also be served. It is expected that many committee reports will be heard on activities related to the busy months ahead and that much old business will be discussed by the membership. Ron Granroth, Chairman of the Junior Shooting Sports Camp being sponsored in part by the O.S.C., has been working hard finalizing plans to make this event a success. The camp will be held at the Ottawa Sportmen's facilities and range June 11th through the 15th. Ron has announced that Karl and Sara Granroth will be on hand the first two days of camp to help out with advice and to show the skills they have acquired to make them both international Biathalon competitors. "Biathalon is a combination of arduous cross country ski racing and rifle shooting and only the best are worthy of international competition," said Granroth. Wednesday Night Trap Shooting continues to be a popular event open to the public at 6:30, weather permitting. The Range Committee has also begun a Tuesday Night Bulls- Eye Pistol Shooting event, also open to the public. Anyone wanting more information on this can call Ron Haka at 353-6383. Members wishing to use the Ottawa Sportsmen's Courtney Lake Campground may make arrangements to pick up a key from Ron Mitchell by calling him at 353-6081. The campground is being looked after by club member and Courtney Lake summer resident, Walt Tuomi. Club jackets and sweatshirts are now available and may be ordered through Carole Williams by calling her at 338-2507. Ordering information is also posted on the bulletin board at the club. It would be appreciated if anyone with pictures of members and club events would consider donating them to the Ottawa Sportsmen to be included in our photo album. We have very few pictures of events depicting our history. It would be great if names, dates or a short explanation could be written on the back of each picture. These can be dropped off at the club or mailed to the O.S.C., P.O. Box 98, Pelkie, 49958. The Ottawa Sportsmen's Club meetings are open to the public and guests are always welcome.
