The above postcard was sent from Frankfort, Germany to the Ottawa Sportsmen in care of me. It's from a man named Dieter who is a friend of O.S.C. member Audie Bitschenauer and who came with him to our 40th Annual Turkey Shoot last year.

Dieter was quite taken in by the Turkey Shoot events and with being invited to share in the volunteer workers "after Shoot" meal and revelry. He especially enjoyed hearing us sing to the guitar music of Tommy Hiltunen.

Dieter was back in the U.S. in June visiting his aunt and uncle, near Rockland I think, and attended our monthly steak feed and membership meeting with Audie. He told me how happy he was to be back with us O.S.C. "Yoopers" once again and had brought the club a special bottle of "bitters" and a set of tiny glass boots from which to drink it.

The card reads; "Many greetings from far far away to all the nice people of the Pelki Sportsman's club from Dieter from Frankfort, Germany. (Since I am here, I miss the U.P.!)

Bob Lappala, another "friend of the club", who was born and raised near Pelkie, but who now lives in downstate Howell with his lovely wife, Jean, took this picture at the Turkey Shoot and saved it, as well as several others, to disc for me. From left to right, those in the picture are Bob Hietikko, Dieter, Audie and Paul & Phyllis Adams.
