It's already time for April Showers .. Spring can't be far off now!! I think we are all ready to have the snow gone. We still have a foot on the ground here in Twin Lakes and more is coming down as I type .. YUK!
Regular membership meeting will be Monday, April 6, 7:30 p.m.
Highway Cleanup -- meet at the clubhouse at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, to organize assignments and get a vest and bags for roadside pick up of trash. Walkers and drivers are needed.
"Work Bee" to cleanup the clubhouse grounds on Saturday, April 25, 8:00 a.m. Please let Joe Dyke know if you will be available to help on this project so he can have materials, equipment and tools arranged for the necessary jobs to be accomplished. Remember, this is your club and it takes everyone to make it work. Joe's phone is 906-353-8505 and email is firstname.lastname@example.org
We have the WILD GAME FEED coming up on Sunday, April 19 serving at 1:00 p.m. at the clubhouse for members and guests. Saturday beginning at 8:00 a.m. will be a "Pre-Game" work bee with many hands needed to help prepare food, set up the dining room, spruce up the inside of the building in preparation for the big day. Come and pitch in to show your support for our club. Todd Bratt is stepping up to be "kitchen boss" this year trying to fit into Ron Moilanen's shoes as he bossed the event for many years. THANK YOU, RON!!!
Todd says he still needs more game if you have any to contribute. Please contact him at email@example.com or 906-334-2556. We also need you to bring a dessert for our table that always fills so magically and disappears even faster. Thank you in advance ladies and gents for your contributions.
We will draw the winning tickets during the Wild Game Feed for our "members only raffle" of a Mossberg bolt action 30-06 with composite stock and scope which was donated by Kissel Chevrolet of L'Anse. Second place winning ticket holder will receive a handmade knife in the "Finnish pukku" style which was crafted by Bud Jarvey, now deceased, and was donated by Jay Elmblad of L'Anse. If you haven't sent your tickets and checks yet, there's still time to send or bring them with you on Sunday, April 19, to the Wild Game Feed. I'll have a few tickets at the dinner if you've misplaced yours or would like more chances. You need not be present to win but think how much fun it would be to take the gun or knife home with you.
Mark your calendar so you don't forget the Jr. Pistol Team will sponsor a spaghetti supper on Saturday, May 16, serving 5-8 p.m. at the clubhouse. This supper and their raffle of a Springfield XD 9mm pistol are the only two money making efforts they have to earn their way to Camp Perry, Ohio, for the Nationals. Plan to support them by attending the supper and buying the raffle tickets which were mailed to you earlier in March. Again, you need not be present to win the pistol and the drawing will be at the end of the spaghetti supper. If you need tickets, let me know.
Youth Shooting Camp for ages 14-18 is scheduled for June 15-19. If you have a child, grandchild, friend, or neighborhood kid who would like to take the class start now by contacting Mark Wuori at 906-228-5471 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application.
Dues of $25 for 2009 need to be paid now if you haven't paid yours. If for any reason you will not be renewing your membership in the OSC, please let me know as I have to renew with MUCC later in April and if I haven't received dues, those members will be dropped from the MUCC roster.
