It's time for the annual election of officers and board members at the Ottawa Sportsmen's Club. Plan to participate in the regular monthly membership meeting Monday, December 7, 7:30 p.m.
Is anyone interested in putting together a predator hunt? Bring any of your ideas to the meeting to throw out whether it's a money maker, information-type meeting, improvement of any kind. Share your ideas with others.
Watch for your 2010 Newsletter coming out in January. It will be time to pay dues. If you are hard to buy for at the holidays, tell your spouse, kids, grandkids, Santa .. anyone who will listen .. that the membership secretary is accepting dues of $25 for 2010 and will send a card back to be placed in your stocking Christmas morning.
The OSC is offering another Concealed Carry Course, the first step to a Michigan CCW permit. Classes will be Saturday and Sunday, December 12 and 13, beginning at 9 A.M. each day. Class size is limited to ten participants and pre-registration is required via email at email@example.com or call Jeff Stroud at 906-370-8288. Fee for the class is $110 for OSC members, $150 for non-members. Check out the website, www.ottawasportsmen@org, if anyone would like to join at the $35 joining fee prior to paying Jeff for the class. Membership forms are also available at the club. I took this class from Jeff. He is very well prepared, knows his stuff and does a great job of putting it across to the class. We not only learned lots .. we had a good time.
Below is a copy of a request from Gene Mensch he asked to have passed on to the membership and possible interested persons.
"Fw: Request for volunteers"
The time has come again for fin-clipping at the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Hatchery. We are hoping to gain assistance in marking/clipping lake trout during mid-Dec (Target dates tentatively Dec 14-16). We have thousands of laker trout that must be marked before they can be stocked in the spring, as could certainly use the help!
Please consider this request, and let us know if you or anyone you know may be interested.
We can be reached at: 906-524-5757 ext 10, 11, or 12
Thanks for considering.
