Time flies and itís time again to get you updated on the happenings at the Ottawa Sportsmenís Club. The monthly board meeting was last evening and reports are that dues are coming in nicely along with purchased tickets on the Tikka Rifle ... if your dues are not current take time now and send in one check for both dues and tickets. Dues are $25 and purchase as many tickets as you wish (make copies if you like) at $5 each or five tickets for $20. Use the envelope that was included in your January mailing to the membership secretary, Judy Glandon, 32185 Emily Lake Road, Toivola, MI 49965, or bring them to next Mondayís meeting.
President, Russ Weisinger, is putting together the 2011 committee list which keeps the club operating like a well-maintained machine so let him know where you would like to participate in the operation. Committees include clubhouse and grounds, trap range, range, Courtney Lake, U.P. Muzzleloaders, shooting sports camp, Rendezvous, endowment, hunter education, site-in days, junior pistol team, finance, resolutions, club rentals, forestry, wild game dinner, and where everyone is definitely needed, Turkey Shoot ... this year is the golden one, number 50! Next Monday, March 7, is the regular monthly membership meeting with J. R. Richardson of the Natural Resources Commission as guest speaker.
Mark your calendar for the wild game feed on Saturday, April 16, 5:00 p.m. Joe Dyke will be cooking game on the grill and is looking for any you may be able to contribute. Call or email him as soon as possible to contribute game ... 906-353-8505 or email@example.com Format has changed for the wild game feed for 2011. This year the wild game feed is not open to the public and members ticket in will be a dish to pass. Any guests must be accompanied by a member. The drawing for the Tikka T-3 light 7 mm/08 rifle will be drawn at the close of the wild game feed. Watch your mailbox for the annual announcement of the Junior Pistol Teamís spaghetti supper on Saturday, May 14, 4 to 7 p.m. They are offering another members only raffle on a Springfield Armory XD 40 caliber pistol with night sights. The drawing will be done at the close of the spaghetti supper and members may purchase as many tickets as they wish at $2.00 each or six tickets for $10.00 by mail or bring them to the spaghetti supper.
Mark your calendar for the spring cleanup at the club grounds and building and highway ... SPRING IS COMING to the Ottawa Sportsmenís Club on Saturday, April 30, 9:00 a.m. Joe Dyke is in charge and he says many hands are needed to give the property a SPRING TUNE-UP!!!
